Your first session
Reach the commons and cook two trail rations from gathered berries.
These steps work from an empty character. Walking to Southfields takes 7 minutes 30 seconds. Cooking one standard ration batch takes another two minutes. Routine foraging takes ten minutes; an ordinary active practice batch instead asks for six decisions.
Step by step
01Open your character
Use /play. Note your current location, empty inventory and available menus.
Return Court in Hearthwake; zero carried goods and currency.
02Meet Ilya
In /play, choose Explore → Visit and select Record House. Then choose Journal → Talk and select Ilya Reed with the Greeting topic. Review and commit each action.
The opening account becomes available in your Journal.
03Accept your first account
Choose Journal → Accept quest and select A Place to Stand. Read the objective currently displayed.
The journal records an active account; later objectives appear as you earn them.
04Visit the depot
Choose Explore → Visit and select Common Depot before leaving Hearthwake.
The depot visit is recorded. No purchase is required.
05Take the South Road
Choose Explore → Travel, select South Road and Walk. Review and commit, then return after 7 minutes 30 seconds.
You arrive in Southfields. Refresh to see your destination and available local work.
06Gather berries
Choose Work → Start work. Select Gather a marked patch (foraging), one cycle, and Active or Afk mode. For Active, choose Work → Work action for each current intervention and complete all six decisions. In the browser these options are under Professions.
The completed batch supplies berries and bitterleaf. No tool or starter materials are required.
07Cook your provisions
Choose Work → Craft and find Cook trail rations (ration). Make one standard batch from three berries. Wait two minutes and refresh. The browser places this action in Workshop.
Two trail rations are carried. Unused berries remain yours.
08Choose a direction
Prepare more tools, try expert work, inspect local encounters or return to Ilya when your Journal is ready.
You have a renewable starting loop and a saved character to return to.
